The first time we do anything is special. We seem to never experience it quite the same way, because each experience broadens our knowledge of how a thing is "supposed" to happen and our expectations of how it "should" be done. Beginner's mind can be an elusive state as to attain, but not impossible.
Take a moment to remember the first time you did something, the first time you met your best friend, the first time you tied your shoes, the first time you saw the ocean, etc. Then I would suggest that you perform that activity again with the intent of seeing and experiencing it as if it were new.
